Joseph J. Grassi, M.D. Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialist
Dr. Grassi joined the staff in August 2000.He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.After receiving his medical degree from the Universita’
di Bologna, he completed an internship in general surgery at
St. Rafael’s Hospital (Yale University Hospital System).Thereafter, he served two years in the U.S. Army
Medical Corps as a General Medical Officer and Battalion
Surgeon. Beginning 1980, Dr. Grassi trained for three years in
the orthopedic surgery residency program at Rhode Island
Hospital (Brown University Medical School Hospital) followed
by a second residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
at the University of Michigan Hospital.
Dr. Grassi is certified by the
American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the
International Society of Clinical Densitometry.Dr. Grassi specializes in non-operative
orthopedic medicine, electromyography and electrodiagnosis,
and osteoporosis treatment.He has been named to several highly acclaimed professional
societies including: American Academy of Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation, American Association of Electrodiagnostic
Medicine, Pennsylvania and New Jersey Medical Societies, and
the International Society of Clinical Densitometry.
