Dr. Friedman joined Orthopedic
Associates of the Greater Lehigh Valley in August 1995.He received his Bachelors of Science with high honors
from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his
medical degree from the University of California at Los
Angeles.He
completed his orthopedic residency at Duke University and a
fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Southern California
Center for Sports Medicine under the tutelage of Dr. Douglas
Jackson, a leader in the field.During these training years, he cared for numerous
collegiate and professional athletes.
Dr. Friedman is board certified
by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of
the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy
Association of North America, Piedmont Orthopedic Society and
the American Medical Association.Through the years, he has dedicated research to
cartilage disorders of the knee and is one of few orthopedic
surgeons in the country skilled in cartilage transplant
techniques.
Dr. Friedman’s area of
expertise includes knee and shoulder disorders.He uses the most up to date techniques to maintain the
health of these joints and employs the best rehabilitative
protocols to restore function.Continual areas of study include ACL reconstructions,
shoulder instability and rotator cuff problems, and cartilage
resurfacing techniques.
